The Fiat Tagliero Building is a stunning Futurist-style service station located in Asmara, Eritrea. Completed in 1938 by the Italian architect Giuseppe Pettazzi, the building is celebrated for its breathtaking architectural design, which boldly resembles an aeroplane. Its most defining feature is a pair of massive, 15-metre cantilevered concrete wings that extend out from a central tower without any structural support pillars, a feat of engineering that shocked onlookers at the time of its construction.
