Despite the moving picture showing people how to open the door and pull the alarm, one step was left out and no one was called. As a result the building burned out of control, it became a 3 alarm fire. The train service had to be cut for blocks, just so firemen could get a higher vantage. What made it harder was that there was a store across the street and people were milling about. Police had to keep the crowds back and out of harms way. When the blaze was out, the captain recommended that the boxes should alarm as soon as the door was open.
