The First Kiss, angels detail (1890) by Bouguereau. A vintage Victorian mythology fine art realist religious portrait painting. Two angels, one kissing the other on the cheek. Although the correct title of the painting is L'Amour et Psyché, Enfants, it was incorrectly titled Le Premier Baiser (The First Kiss) and the name stuck. About the artist: William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1825-1905) was an academic painter in realism and a staunch traditionalist whose realistic style and mythological themes were modern interpretations of classical subjects.
