The family crest of Yoshida Shoin (Drawn on 2013/5/6) / Shoin was caught trying to stow away on Perry's second expedition to Shimoda. When asked his name by an American officer, he gave the alias 'Urina Manji'. This is a play on the colloquial name 'Manji within a gourd', referring to Shoin's family crest. (Reference: '100 Stories of Family Crests (Part 2)' by Niwa Kaji) / There are various theories about the alias, with other possibilities being Kanouchi Manji and Kuwanou Manji.
