Flag of the Basque Country Stone Coaster

This design features the flag of the Basque country, which is the name given to the homeland of the Basque people. The Basque country is situated in the western Pyrenees, on the border between France and Spain and the coast of the Bay of Biscay. Euskal Herria is the oldest documented Basque name for the area, dating from the 16th century. The Basque people collectively are known as Euskaldunak. The Basque country comprises both the Autonomous Communities of the Basque Country and Navarre in Spain and the Northern Basque Country in France. The largest city in the Basque country is Bilbao, on the Spanish side of the border. Other major cities in the Basque country include Vitoria-Gasteiz, Pamplona, Donostia (San Sebastián) and Barakaldo.
