He was a Chech artist known for his very bold and distinct style, especially his advertisements. He was a prolific artist and produced many paintings, illustrations, advertisements, postcards, and designs as well as designs for jewellery, carpets, wallpaper, & theatre sets in what became known as Art Nouveau.
