This photographic postcard showcases the historic Flowering Bridge in Lake Lure, North Carolina. Built in 1925, the bridge spans 155 feet over the Rocky Broad River and is adorned with 30 stunning gardens, all lovingly maintained by volunteers. Captured by JLW_PHOTOGRAPHY, in July 2024, in the final summer before Hurricane Helene swept through, these images preserve the Lake Lure Flowering Bridge in all its beauty. Once a place of colour and quiet joy for visitors and locals alike, it now lives on in memory — a reminder of what was, and of the hope that blooms again.
