18th-Century Textile Paintings on Fabric. These patterns are preparatory maquettes, paintings for designs to be printed on fabrics, made with gouache on paper for the Haussmann workrooms at Logelbach near Colmar and preserved at the Musée de l’Impression sur Etoffes in Mulhouse, France, in its documentation centre. They were made between 1780 and 1810. They bring to life a fascinating but little known epoch in the history of printed materials This print called 'Flowery Skills’ was done at the Haussman workrooms in 1792. It is Gouache on paper.
