Flying Tigers P-40B Warhawk Mousepad

Prior to America’s entry into World War II, a group of American pilots fought the Japanese for the Chinese government using obsolete P-40 Warhawk fighter planes. These American volunteer pilots, officially called the “American Volunteer Group" (A.V.G.), were better known as the “Flying Tigers.” The plane in this design was flown by Gregory “Pappy” Boyington who was officially credited with two victories. Boyington later formed and led the famous “Black Sheep Squadron.”
