Four Dancer by Degas Square Clock
Four Dancers by French painter Edgar Degas in 1899. Edgar Degas enjoyed photography and going to the ballet and opera. This painting of four dancers - or one dancer moving across the stage - was most likely influenced by his other interests. The dancers are not centre and may, in fact, be one dancer like multiple exposure photograph. The background is blurry and out of focus with sharp detail on the dancers to the left. Degas is considered to be one of the leaders of Impressionism although he preferred the term "Realist."
