Its said that when the Phoenix dies, it goes out in a large flame, and then is reborn from the ashes where it stood. The Phoenix was a large but gentle bird, loyal like a dog. The flames however were a problem, often setting the house on fire each time it died. And it died like every day, so it just wasn't that great a pet.
