"The Beach at Saint Adresse" is an oil painting by French Impressionism artist, Claude Monet in 1867. At this time he was a struggling artist and quite poor. He stayed with his Aunt here in this village where began to paint overcast scenes with the desire to capture the shifts in the weather and light of the day. Few of these early paintings have survivied. These first paintings created in his youth were the beginning of his development of his Impressionism style.
