Friends of Artemis: a Secular Christmas Tote
The friends of Artemis (Greek goddess) here are the deer and a cardinal. The deer and tree are adapted from an Art Deco fashion plate by George Barbier: “Artémis,” plate 29 from Gazette du Bon Tonne, 1924–1925, no. 4. The cardinal was one of my grandmother's favourite birds, and they always remind me of Christmas.
I love the way periwinkle background contrasts with the orange-red cardinal, but feel free to swap it out for another colour or to remove it entirely.
