Florence served as the home of the Medici Family who are also credited with many of the artistic treasures that can be viewed today. The Duomo and its fantastic dome engineered by Brunelleschi serves as a centerpiece and took almost 140 years to complete. The climbing the 463 steps to the top of the dome provides a fantastic viewpoint to see all of Florence.
