Galoa - Gadolinium Trading Card

The wizard, Galoa represents the element, Gadolinium in Magical Elements of the Periodic Table. Galoa has the power to manipulate microwaves to generate intense heat that she can focus at targets. The element comes from a mineral called Gadolinite, also known as ytterbite. This mineral is a silicate and gives us not just this element, but also cerium, lanthanum, neodymium, yttrium, beryllium, iron, and small amounts of thorium. The element’s name is derived from gadolinite, a mineral named for Finnish chemist Johan Gadolin. Gadolinium is magnetocaloric, which means its temperature increases when it is placed in a magnetic field and decreases when it is removed from the field. Gadolinium III forms beautiful fluorescent compounds (known as phosphors). Those compounds were once the green phosphors in colour television picture tubes.
