Garden of Allah T-Shirt

Shortly after the turn of the twentieth century, give-away matchbooks became an advertising sensation. Today they are prized for their cover art, which reflect the culture and imagery of the times. This design features Vivian Laird's swanky Garden of Allah; the "hottest night spot this side of Hollywood." It was also known for hosting an illegal gambling room in the 8-car "garage" behind the restaurant. This high-resolution graphic is not a scanned image. The original cover has been meticulously recreated by hand as a vector graphic and processed to simulate the printing characteristics of the day.
