Garden Sign at Anne's Green Gables Magnet

It is sure nice to replace photos stuck on refrigerators for 20+ years with magnetic cards that look crisper will last longer. This picture was taken a long time ago at the famous tourist attraction Green Gables in Prince Edward Island National Park in Canada. The Green Gables farm and its surroundings are the setting for the Anne of Green Gables novels by Lucy Maud Montgomery. The excerpt reads: The kiss of the sun for pardon, the song of the birds for mirth, one is nearer god's heart in a garden than anywhere else on earth. It is from a poem written in the early 1900s by Dorothy Frances Gurney in England. It was inspired by his exquisite garden at Hammerfield Penshurst.” Apparently the entire poem "God's Garden" is in sad reference to Jesus and the Garden of Gethsemane. This stanza shown here expresses those good feelings of being with the birds and sun in any garden.
