Gaslighter's Union (outlined) T-Shirt
After the discovery in the early 1700 of gas-conversion of fuels like coal, gas lights would come to be the leading form of artificial light in most of the industrial world. More economical than candles and other types of lantern, gas lighting would be established as the primary source of artificial light and remain so until the early 20th century when it was replaced by electric lights. Houses were fit with pipes and fixtures for gas lighting and the streets of cities and suburbs were fit with gas powered street lamps. These lamps needed to be manually lit, giving rise to the job of lantern lighter or gas lighter. Meanwhile, the homes in which these gas lamps were lit would occasionally experience strange incidents of apparitions, sounds, and even poltergeists. Modern science has established that the types of gas burnt to provide light frequently produced carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide in substantial amounts which could, if the building was insufficiently ventilated, result in hallucinations and even death. The term "gaslighting" was then appropriated by the 1938 play Gas Light, set about 1880 (the same time the the first electric light, the carbon lamp, was introduced), and its subsequent film adaptations. It has since become a recognised literary and psychological term for deliberately trying to drive someone mad by altering their environment without their knowledge and denying it. Changing little details about someone's environment behind their back, transmitting noises into their space when they are alone, etc. Properly done, the victim can become so convinced that they are going insane that they actually do suffer a break. This black shirt with a black logo for the Gaslighter's Union suggests that you're a master at unseen modifications, subtle alterations of the environment, and nagging, half hidden truths. The logo has two quotes in their original Latin; Whom the gods destroy, they first make mad. ~ Euripides. Every madman thinks all other men mad. ~Syrus, Maxims.

Basic Dark T-Shirt, Navy Blue, Adult S
I found the shirt quality itself to be well made. Unfortunately I found that the image quality of the artwork is low resoultion. So the art and words aren't as clear. I probably wont buy another shirt to be honest, but I'm glad I supported the podcast of which I'm a fan of. I was just hoping that for the price I paid, it would have been of better quality.
