Girl Defending Herself Against Cupid by Bouguereau Tie
Now available! Double sided printed ties! Twice as nice!
Young Girl Defending Herself Against Eros (1880) by Bouguereau is a vintage Victorian mythology fine art realist portait painting. A portraiture of Eros or Cupid, the god of love, trying to put an arrow into her heart. The boy with wings has a mischievous look on his face and although the title suggests the girl might be in danger she is smiling while fending him off.
About the artist:
William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1825-1905) was an academic painter of realism and staunch traditionalist whose realistic style and mythological themes were modern interpretations of classical subjects.
