Girl Packing Cherries in Provence (France) Magnet

This design features a painting by the English artist Henry Herbert La Thangue (1859–1929), who was associated with the Newlyn School. It shows a young woman in the courtyard of a traditional French farmhouse. She is working hard, packing cherries into boxes. The fruit has been picked from the trees and dried in the sun before it is ready to be boxed. There is also an older man working behind her: he is producing wooden lids for the boxes. The buildings in the background are made out of stone. It appears to be a sunny summer's day. The original artwork was painted by Henry Herbert La Thangue in 1923.
