Azimuthal Equidistant is proud to now feature a new revision of Alexander Gleason's NEW STANDARD MAP OF THE WORLD printed on quality canvas in high-resolution (the Boston Library stamp has been removed too). As Mr. Gleason stated on his 'patented' map of 1892, it is "AS IT IS", meaning the Earth is in fact a flat plane that is stationary. As he illustrated, the Sun and the Moon revolve around and above us everyday; and the stars revolve around Polaris, the North Star which never moves and is always without fail directly above the North Pole. Most people were taught as you were likely from a baby that we're spinning around on ball Earth; information which was further burned into our minds with paintings and movies of space and the so called planets (which are in fact wandering stars as our ancestors knew).Think about it, water always lies flat. Very impressive product! The canvas is sturdily made. It features a saw tooth hanger on the back, making it easy to "try out" the canvas in several rooms until I found the best location. I bought this for our own home. It turned out beautifully, and I would recommend it to anyone who has concerns about the quality of the product. The printing turned out perfect. I did have some concerns how printing would turn out. Would the colors be accurate to the original painting's colors ? Yes. Would the sides look right? Yes. Would the bend affect the presentation? No, it's beautiful. I took these pictures hurriedly, on a dark, rainy day, and the room is not particularly light any time. Regretfully, the photos do not do justice to the artwork.
