This design features a painting by the English-American artist Thomas Cole (1801–1848). It shows an idealised view of a mediaeval landscape with a large stone-built castle in the background. There is a joust taking place in the foreground: knights are riding on horses at each other with lances. The original artwork was painted in 1838.
