A drizzly day at Lake Miramar in Miramar, California, did not dissuade all of the resident birds from visiting us for bread! There's one visible gull and mallard, but they are far outnumbered by the crowd of coots. Centre stage is one of my best goose buddies! He is very polite when taking the bread and is always happy to share with all of the coots. The coots, however, aren't so much “polite” as opportunistic. Whoever is brave enough to come close gets the bread, but then usually gets mobbed!
