Gorvel Fadersdatter Sparre Giske Sudreim Heiress Jigsaw Puzzle

Gorvel Fadersdatter Sparre Giske Sudreim Heiress Jigsaw Puzzle

Gorvel Fadersdatter Sparre Giske 'Sudreim Heiress to the Kingdom of Norway' ... 3rd cousin of our Talla Ancestor Tord Trondsson Benkestok. Tallas directly descend from at least 3 children (Christen, Mette, Cecilie) of Tord's daughter Maren Tordsdatter Benkestok Heiberg / Ronnei who married (Anders Lauritsson Heiberg / Ronnei) at Talla in 1593! Gorvel died with no surviving children. Gorvel was a favourite of the king of Denmark who frequently visited her home and she frequently visited his court at his invitation. But, her own parents and uncles and grandfather had been executed by previous Danish kings. Gorvel once owned as many as 600 Norwegian farms and more properties in Sweden where she built herself a castle not far from Denmark. Gorvel was married to knights each on the king's council of the realm so she was very much a part of the king's court. Though Tallas do not directly descend from Gorvel, Tallas do descend from her 3rd cousin Tord Trondsson Benkestok, from Tord's mother Anna 2nd cousin of Gorvel's mother and uncles, from Elene, Anna's mother and 1st cousin of Gorvel's grandfather, from Ragnfrid, Elene's mother and sister of Gorvel's great grandfather, and from Agnes Alvsdatter Bolt, Ragnfrid's mother and Gorvel's great great grandmother! Agnes Alvsdatter Bolt was herself Heiress by Sudreim Claim to the kingdom of Norway and our direct ancestor! Agnes Alvsdatter Bolt directly descended from Agnes Haakonsdatter Roos Sudreim her great great grandmother and daughter (eldest child) of the last true Norwegian king Haakon V (died 1319). Gorvel was sent many young ladies of the Danish court to raise as Danish royalty teaching them courtly manners. Gorvel's son died of 'plague' on a trip with a stepfather. I would regard that death as an extremely suspicious convenience to the Danish court ... because he would have been the next Heir by Sudreim Claim to the Kingdom of Norway for which Gorvel's mother and uncles and grandfather paid with their lives as well. Gorvel's son would have been Maren's 4th cousin! By rights and legal claim, Gorvel's son should have become king of Norway. But, for generations, Norway was ruled by Danish kings of the' Kalmar Union' and before that by Swedish kings after the death of Haakon V our direct ancestor! We descend from Maren Tordsdatter Benkestok Heiberg / Ronnei's eldest son Christen who inherited the Ronnei farm (near the Benkestok estate also in same fjord valley as Talla) who married his own 1st cousin of Talla. Christen's descendants inherited Ronnei several generations. Through Ronnei runs a stream of ice glacier melt water from an interior ice glacier valley into the fjord. The Heiberg family claimed descent from the lone (nobility) survivor little girl of the Black Plague of that ice glacier valley illustrated on their coat of arms by a little bird amid skulls and crossbones at Ronnei farm where the little girl married. This survivor noble family thus married into the family of the Sudreim Claim and their descendants inherited the Ronnei farm several generations. These were Talla ancestors.

The picture quality is fantastic on these puzzles. They have a high gloss finish and look fantastic. My only complaint is that there is a lot of movement with the pieces compared to regular cardboard pieces. Once compelted there is still a lot of play and pieces can move out of place. The puzzle says 8x10 But was about 1/4, 1/8 shorter on either end. Yes there are some concerns but I would definitely order another puzzle. Print and finish were great
