Great Lakes steamer Nipigon Bay in Welland Canal, original photo by Gene Buel circa 1980. Built as the tanker IMPERIAL LEDUC in 1951 and then
sold to Canada Steamship Lines in 1954, and renamed NIPIGON BAY. The Welland Canal is a ship canal in Ontario, Canada, connecting Lake Ontario and Lake Erie. It forms a key section of the St. Lawrence Seaway and Great Lakes Waterway.
