The Walkabout Education Foundation (walkabout.org) is a non-profit organisation whose mission is to advocate and expand challenge-orientated, experiential education programs. This time-tested approach to education provides students with a sense of self-confidence, community, life skills and core values at a critical and transformative time of life. We are a network of alumni, parents, educators and supporting foundations who believe that these programs empower individuals to dramatically improve themselves and the world around them. The 36 year old BOCES Walkabout Program is slated to be terminated. We need to raise $250,000 to keep the doors open, gain awareness, and look into opening other programs like it in the future.
