Gustav Klimt - Flower Garden Square Wall Clock

Flower Garden (Bauerngarten / Blumengarten), painted around 1905-1907 in oil on canvas by Austrian Symbolist Gustav Klimt. A dense mass of flowers rises in a broad pyramid, with red, pink, yellow and white blossoms emerging from dark green foliage. Almost every part of the square surface is filled, leaving little sense of a traditional foreground, horizon or sky. Klimt transforms a simple peasant garden into a highly organised tapestry of colour while preserving the individuality of many flowers. The painting belongs to the period when his landscapes became increasingly decorative and self-contained, balancing direct observation with a strong sense of pattern.
