Gustav Klimt - Litzlberg am Attersee Tile

Gustav Klimt - Litzlberg am Attersee Tile

Litzlberg on the Attersee (Litzlberg am Attersee), painted around 1914-1915 in oil on canvas by Austrian Symbolist Gustav Klimt. From his later base on the southern side of the lake, Klimt returned in paint to Litzlberg, the area associated with his earliest Attersee summers. The distant shoreline and hills are compressed into broad horizontal zones, while houses and vegetation are simplified into small blocks of colour. The view combines geographic distance with the flattened, almost map-like structure of his late landscapes. Klimt painted Litzlberg three times during his final Attersee summers of 1914-1916.

My fiancé and I were happy when we received the tile. It’s Peru and was worth paying extra for expressing postage. Good quality and it is exactly like we wanted it. We are very pleased.
