Boating Party / Oarsman in a Top Hat (Partie de bateau / Canotier au chapeau haut de forme), painted by Gustave Caillebotte around 1877–1878, places the viewer close to an oarsman rowing on the Yerres. This Impressionist oil on canvas captures the physical rhythm of rowing and the growing popularity of canoeing, water sports and riverside leisure in 19th-century France. Exhibited in 1879, the painting is held by the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.
