Sailing Boats at Argenteuil (Voiliers à Argenteuil), painted by Gustave Caillebotte around 1888, shows pleasure boats moored on the Seine below Argenteuil's old wooden bridge, with the railway bridge and distant hills beyond. Shimmering reflections, masts and broad brushstrokes turn Caillebotte's passion for sailing into a luminous Impressionist study of water and light. This oil on canvas is held by the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.
