Hand-Lettered Latin Gaudete Rejoice Christmas Ornament

Note from artist Mary Kunz Goldman: I like Latin, what can I say. My dad was a Latin teacher and I attend the Latin Mass. "Gaudete, Christus est natus" translates to "Rejoice, Christ is born." It is the title of a famous mediaeval Spanish Christmas carol sung famously years ago by the British band Steeleye Span. From the word "Gaudete" we get the English word "gaudy," which means bright and festive. I had fun hand-lettering this Christmas message in as gaudy a fashion as I could. Last year I put various versions of this design on my own personal Christmas cards.
