Vintage illustration marine life design featuring two Harbour Seals (aka Common Seals or Spotted Seals) on a rocky coast. Louis Sargent illustrator, from "My First Book of Animals" by Lena Dalkeith, c. 1918. Harbour Seals are the most widely distributed species of pinniped and are found in coastal waters of the northern Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and the Baltic and North Seas. They possess a unique pattern of spots, either dark on a light background or light on a dark.
