The Hebrew text translates, "Thank You, living and eternal Ruler, for You have restored my soul within me with mercy; How great is Your faithfulness!." In the Hebrew text, there is no vocalisation, so one can choose to read the first word as "modeh" (masc.) or "modah" (fem.) - and it fits all children.
