Helsinki Central Railway Station Postcard

This postcard uses that retro look to hark back to an earlier time when there were no colour photographs on postcards, just black and white photographs or colour illustrations. Don't forget to have a look at the back of the postcard. It has a retro feel to it aswell. You can buy a single postcard if that's all you need or you can buy as many as you want. Designed by architect, Eliel Saarinen, the Helsinki Central Railway Station was built between 1909 and 1919 and serves as an early example of what became known as Art Deco style architecture. This image shows two of the four large figures designed by Emil Wikstrom that flank the entrance to the station. Snow sits on their heads, shoulders and arms while each holds a globe which serves as lights after darkness falls. Using my original photographs as a starting point, I have employed various techniques to create these delicious retro-style images. If you like this design (or not) then leave a comment.
