Henna Hand of Hamsa (Blue) (Save The Date) Magnet
This Particular design, traditionally used throughout the Middle East and North Africa, can often be seen in Mehndi artwork and is known as the hand of Hamsa or hand of Fatima. It is a sign of protection that also represents blessings, power, and strength, and is seen as a potent in deflecting the evil eye. Mehndi is a ceremonial art form which originated in ancient India. Muslims also use it as an indication of coming of age. Intricate patterns of mehndi are typically applied to brides before wedding ceremonies. The bridegroom is also painted in some parts of India. The word mehndi is derived from the Sanskrit word mendhikā. The use of mehndi is described in the earliest Hinduism's Vedic ritual books. Haldi (staining oneself with turmeric paste) as well as mehndi are Vedic customs, intended to be a symbolic representation of the outer and the inner sun. Vedic customs are centred around the idea of "awakening the inner light". They looked amazing and the printing was good. They did not come with envelopes and I reached out and would have to reach out to someone else because they were a third person seller. Very annoying they should have included envelopes. The printing was good.

I really only ordered this item to see it as a magnet -- I was going to order postcards, but then decided I wanted the magnets more. Unfortunately, I went with a different (better priced) competitor instead of Zazzle... (one that conveniently -for them- forced me to purchase the magnets in bulk). Sadly, their magnets were SO much thinner and the design was kind of peeling off of the edges.
I wish I would have ordered my Save the Date magnets through Zazzle and regret not going with the company that would allow me to buy a test magnet before purchasing the entire 50.
I highly recommend this product - it's strong and durable enough to send through the mail and the colors were EXACTLY right. Also, I really loved the finish of the magnet - most other Save the Date type of magnets are just stickers placed on a magnet, but this felt like it was a solid piece. Wish I could've read THIS review before I got all of my magnets. My design was not proportional to 4"x6" magnet dimensions. I do wish there were more sizes of magnets to choose from. But I knew this while ordering and pushed it all through anyways, just to see what the magnet quality was like.
I was impressed with the printing- for the most part, my design was applied perfectly. Some edges of the design were a bit skewed but for a design that had a completely different measurements, I was pretty impressed it came out so well. I don't think anyone but myself (who custom designed the magnet) would even notice the flaws.
The color was phenomenal - 10 out of 10!
