Henry Knox's Noble Train of Artillery Postcard

Henry Knox's Noble Train of Artillery Postcard

The Siege of Boston in 1775 was a pivotal early event in the American Revolutionary War. Following the battles of Lexington and Concord in April 1775, American militia forces converged on Boston, where British troops were garrisoned. Under the command of General Artemas Ward and later General George Washington, the American forces gradually encircled the city, effectively cutting off British access to the mainland. The siege lasted for nearly a year, during which both sides engaged in skirmishes, artillery duels, and other actions, but no large-scale battles occurred. The American forces fortified their positions, including the construction of redoubts on Breed's Hill and Bunker Hill. Finally, in March 1776, Washington's forces managed to position artillery on Dorchester Heights, overlooking the British positions, forcing the British to evacuate Boston on March 17, 1776. The Siege of Boston demonstrated the determination of American colonists in their struggle for independence and marked a significant early success for the Continental Army under General Washington's command.

Such a huge range of different frogs available, which made my choices very difficult and now the reason I have a whole draw full of cards and postcards! Much better quality than you can buy in the shops and they are exactly on the subject I love and adore too.
