This picture of the Henry Swanson House was taken in the afternoon on a winter's day when there was heavy cloud cover. Henry Swanson instigated the movement to get the City of Unalaska classified as a 1st class city of Alaska. The reclassification made the city eligible for government funds to make improvements to the community, and things have been going downhil ever since then. It was a much nicer place to live when it was just a primitive village with dirt roads. The Henry Swanson House is located on Broadway Street in downtown Unalaska City.
