Herd of Cattle Beside the Sea (by Eugène Burnand) Stone Coaster

This design features a painting by the Swiss artist Eugène Burnand (1850–1921). It shows a farmer on horseback leading his large herd of cattle towards the sea. The cows are standing on the sand and some of the animals are slowly venturing towards the water. Most of the cows have black hair, while some of them are brown. The horse that the farmer is riding is white, making it more easily visible in front of the cows. All of the cows have horns on their head. There are gentle waves lapping onto the beach from the sea. The sky is cloudy and grey, but the sand is golden. The original artwork was painted by Eugène Burnand in 1878.
