It shows Hesperia, one of the nymphs in ancient Greek mythology, who were goddesses of evening and the golden light of sunsets. In the myth, Hesperia guards golden apples growing from a special tree. Hesperia is depicted here as a beautiful woman wearing a long contemporary red dress. She is standing in an elegant guardian. The original artwork was painted by Frank Dicksee in 1887.
