This is a painting by George Clausen (1852-1944) in the English Realist style. It shows a crowded Mass in a fishing village. The woman with her children is devoutly praying her rosary to stay focused, as she cannot hear or see anything going on in the overcrowded Church. This is an inspirational depiction of devotion.
