Hiroshima, a city in western Japan, is best known for its tragic history as the first target of an atomic bomb during World War II. On August 6, 1945, the United States dropped the bomb, devastating the city and killing tens of thousands instantly, with many more suffering from radiation exposure in the following years. Despite this catastrophe, Hiroshima has transformed into a symbol of resilience, peace, and global anti-nuclear advocacy.
