Hitoyanagi nail puller tie
The nail puller is a carpenter's tool, and the word is associated with 'nine castles puller' which means to pull out nine castles. Alternatively, it is said to be auspicious for samurai families because it means having nine castles. (from 'Kamon no Jiten' by Takazawa et al.). Many kamon books, including 'Mon no Jiten', refer to it as 'Hitoyanagi nail puller', but 'Edo Monsho Shu' refers to it as 'Hitoyanagi ikkaku ichi no ji komochi kuginuki', and 'Mon no Izumi' refers to it as 'Hitoyanagi kuginuki'.
