Hong Kong, Crown Colony, 99 Year Lease Blue TIE

My grandparents lived in Hong Kong from 1920 (the women, my grandmother, mother, and two aunts left for Cambridge, MA under looming Japanese threat in 1938) my grandfather, alas had a reservation home for Dec 8, 1941 on the Pan Am Clipper. Adjusting for the international dateline makes it Pearl Harbour Day and the Japanese attacked Hong Kong as well. My grandfather spent about 8 months more in Hong Kong as the guest of the Japanese in Stanley Internment camp. This crest came later but for me the triumphant dragon added to the usual British lion and the "Junk" boats at the centre, also part of our growing up stories, makes it a Triumphant symbol of my family's lives in Hong Kong.
