[Hon-jodaikon] Daikon-mon (Japanese radish). This design and its name were based on 'Monten.' The real mother of Tsunayoshi, the fifth Tokugawa Shogun, was Keishoin. In order to remember that she was a daughter of the Yaoya, she decided to use the Daikon Mon as her family crest. The Honjo clan, starting with Munesuke, who was a younger brother of Keishoin, and becoming the lord of Tanba Miyazu Seventy thousand Koku, inherited this Daikon crest.
