This is a view downstream of the Hoover Dam, looking towards the Colorado River. This view, during the time this photo was taken, was to be changed 'forever' with the construction of the new highway bridge across this intimidating Black Mountains canyon. The bridge will not likely draw the large volumes of traffic away from the dam - but that's not the point - it will enable commuters to travel to Boulder and Las Vegas without having to go through the long land laborious security checks on both sids of the dam.
