This religious postcard features a Byzantine style icon of the Lord Jesus Christ as a High Priest forever in the Order of Melchizedek holding the Gospel of St. John at 10:11 displaying the Latin text: Ego sum pastor bonus. Pastor bonus animam suam dat pro ovibus suis (I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep). Christ's figure is surrounded by the text 'High Priest' written in Hebrew, Greek and Latin. The original painting was made with egg tempera and oil on a 24k gold-leafed wood panel.
