II The Homebody – No One Leaves (Seriously), Tarot Notebook
Major Arcana – Haunted Dollhouse Tarot
You could leave… but the house has other plans.
Some dollhouses invite you to play. Others just don’t let you leave. The Homebody tarot card captures the haunted hush of a house that doesn’t want to be alone. It’s comforting… until it isn’t. Display it with your tarot deck, gift it to a homebody friend, or keep it somewhere cozy and totally not cursed. Perfect for: Introverts who may or may not be possessed Fans of liminal spaces and fuzzy socks People who’ve started calling their dollhouse “Mother”
Tarot Card Meaning:
Upright:
Isolation, comfort in confinement, eerie coziness. This card appears when you’ve stayed in one place too long—physically, emotionally, or spiritually. It’s comfy, yes. But it’s also… suspiciously comfy. There’s a difference between nesting and being nested in.
Reversed:
Escaping the loop, finding new space, haunted house-hopping. A gentle (or jarring) push out of your cursed comfort zone. Take only what you need—and maybe not the dollhouse.
Keywords:
Dollhouse dependency, spooky stillness, liminal nesting, quiet dread, velvet claustrophobia
Backstory:
The Homebody This was once Rosemary Cottage, a quaint little thing with lace curtains, a kettle always warm, and windows that watched you while you slept. Its last resident, Miss Elvira Pine, moved in for “just a season”—back in 1912. She wrote cheerful letters for the first few months. Then… they stopped. Neighbors say they saw her waving from the upstairs window every so often, looking perfectly content. But no one saw her leave. Ever. The house began to change. The front gate rusted shut. The doorknob grew warm when touched, like it was breathing. Inside, the air always smelled like lavender and something faintly... spoiled. No matter what time you visited, the clock read 4:13 PM—tea time, presumably. To this day, it’s said that if you step through the front door, a kettle will whistle for you—and if you stay too long, you'll forget why you ever wanted to leave.
