This ceramic tile features a line-art illustration of the Hungarian Parliament seen through the arches of Budapest’s Fisherman’s Bastion. Architect Frigyes Schulek created the bastion’s Neo-Romanesque terraces and seven symbolic turrets around the turn of the 20th century as a monumental viewpoint over the Danube. The Parliament across the river was designed by Imre Steindl in a Neo-Gothic language, pairing two major historicist landmarks in Budapest’s celebrated river panorama.
