Charles (CM) Russell, the “cowboy artist”, created more than 2,000 paintings of cowboys, Indians, and landscapes set in the Western United States. He lived and worked among the cowboys and the Blood Indian tribe in his younger years. This painting is called “In the Wake of the Buffalo Hunters” and it depicts a band of Indian women and elders following after the hunting party.
