About This Design
Inari embracing rice travel mug
【Inaridakiine】Rice crest. This design is mainly based on 'Mon Den' (a book on family crests). The spread of ox-cart marks and battlefield flags did not lead to the current situation where all Japanese people have family crests. It is believed that the main factor in the spread of family crests was Shinto shrine worship. Among Shinto shrines, Inari shrines are the most numerous, with approximately 19,800 shrines (the second most numerous are Hachiman shrines with approximately 14,800 shrines). Inari shrines, which are dedicated to the god of prosperous business, use the 'Inari embracing rice plant' crest, with Fushimi Inari Taisha in Kyoto City as their main shrine. (according to 'Nihon no Myoji to Kamon' by Takeaki Takemitsu)

Very happy with both the quality of the print and travel mug itself. Was hesitant being from NZ that the item wouldn't arrive in time for Father's day given the shipping guidelines, but it took only 5 days to arrive - 2 days before estimated delivery. Highly recommended. .
